Matthews And Hummel Recognized At Baseball HOF

In addition to Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn being inducted into baseball’s hall of fame this weekend in Cooperstown, two Missourians gained recognition.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Rick Hummel who has covered the Cardinals for 35 years won the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for contributions to baseball writing and Royals longtime announcer Denny Matthews won the Ford C. Frick award for excellence in broadcasting.
