The Atlanta Braves scored 14 runs on 19 hits as they blasted the St. Louis Cardinals 14-6 Saturday night at Turner Field in Atlanta.

The batting hero of the game was Braves’ outfielder Willie Harris, who went 6 for 6 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Harris’ brilliant performance overshadowed Chipper Jones’ merely great performance, which saw the Atlanta third baseman go 3 for 4 with 4 runs batted in and a run scored. Two of Jones’ RBIs came on his 16 th home run of the season.

Chris Duncan belted his 19 th home run for the Redbirds, a 2 run shot in the 4 th inning. On the night, he went 3 for 4 with 3 runs batted in and a run scored.

Atlanta starter Buddy Carlyle (5-2) gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits in 6 innings to earn the win. Cards’ starter Braden Looper (7-8) took the loss. He lasted only 2 2/3 innings, giving up 7 earned runs on 10 hits.

The Cardinals (44-50) and the Braves (52-46) wrap up their four game set Sunday night at Turner Field with the Redbirds trying to even the series. Brad Thompson (6-4) goes to the mound for the Cardinals against Atlanta’s Jo-Jo Reyes (0-1).
