The Mizzou Tiger football team was picked to finish first in the Big 12 North media preseason poll.  Mizzou finished with 16 of 24 first place votes to edge out Nebraska.  K-State, Kansas, Colorado, and Iowa State round out the north.  Texas was number one in the Big 12 South followed by Oklahoma, Texas A & M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Baylor.

The highest Mizzou has ever been picked in the preseason poll was 2nd, back in 2004.  Head Coach Gary Pinkel returns 15 starters from last year’s team that tied for second overall with an 8-5 record.  Last year, Mizzou was picked to finish 5th in the preseason poll.

The fall camp starts in just over two weeks as the Tigers prepare for their September 1st season opener against Illinois in St. Louis.
