Four people have been hospitalized after a private tram malfunctioned at the Lake of the Ozarks and threw them out. State Fire Marshall Randy Cole says one of the victims has been flown to a hospital in Springfield. The other three are hospitalized at the Lake.
Cole says a piece of equipment on the cable-winch operated tram failed about 90 feet down the hillside, causing the tram to halt abruptly and to throw the occupants out. They fell thirty to forty feet down a steep incline. A seawall kept them from falling into the Lake.
