Missouri Braces for Floodwaters

July 4, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri is bracing for flooding with several communities in west-central Missouri having more than a passing interest in the flooding of their neighbors to the West. The high water in Kansas is raising levels along the Osage River and others in Missouri. At least 50 people have been evacuated by boat in Pappinville in Bates County, just upriver from Schell City in Vernon County which has been sandbagging for two days. The Osage River was just under 17 feet above flood stage at Schell City Tuesday and is expected to crest Thursday.
