The Attorney General’s office has charged a former Neosho policeman with endangering the welfare of a child by giving a pint of vodka to a 16-year old girl. When the girl, Kassie Schenk, died in a traffic crash the next day her blood-alcohol content was 50% higher than the legal definition of drunk. An empty vodka bottle was found in her car. The Newton County Circuit Court had asked the Attorney General’s staff to investigate the case against ex-deputy Justin Pickup and file charges if warranted.
