Royals Shut Out Angels to Sweep Series

The Kansas City Royals complete a three game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, getting a superb pitching performance from Jorge De La Rosa as they shut out the Halos 1-0 Wednesday in Anaheim.

De La Rosa (5-9) pitched 6 scoreless innings, scattering 10 hits. Octavio Dotel pitched 1 hitless inning to earn his 8 th save. Jared Weaver (6-4) surrendered the game’s only run as he gave up just 4 hits in 7 innings of work.

The Royals (33-46) have now won 4 straight games. They have an off day Thursday before opening a weekend series with the Chicago White Sox Friday night at Kauffman Stadium. In the opening game Brian Bannister (4-4) goes to the mound for the Royals against Chicago’s Jose Contreras (5-8).
