A United States House Armed Services subcommittee report says the Iraqi police force is corrupted and the way the Iraqi government and the Pentagon keep track of the Iraqi military is "critically deficient." The senior Republican on the committee, Congressman Todd Aiken of St. Louis, won’t go that far in describing the situation. He says the results are mixed. Akin is not ready to advocate, as some have, that the United States stop training the Iraqi security forces.  He calls them "the only meaningful structure" in the country.
