The Milwaukee Brewers unloaded for 11 runs on 14 hits to down the Kansas City Royals 11-6 in the opening game of a weekend series Friday night at Miller Park.

The Brewers got on the board first in the bottom of the 1 st inning on Ryan Braun’s fifth home run of the season. Tony Graffanino later hit his 4 th dinger of the year in the 6th, followed by Corey Hart’s ninth homer of the season, a three-run shot in the 7 th .

On a positive note for the Royals, Mark Teahen went 4 for 5 with a run batted in.

Former Royal Jeff Suppan (8-7) pitched 5 innings for the win, giving up 5 earned runs on 9 hits. KC starter Jorge De La Rosa (4-9) surrendered 7 earned runs on 10 hits in 5 innings to take the loss.

The Royals (29-45) and Brewers (42-31) go at it again Saturday night at Miller Park. Brian Bannister (4-3) takes the mound for Kansas City against Milwaukee’s Dave Bush (4-6).
