The effort to keep the state from taking over the St. Louis school system heads back into a circuit courtroom in Jefferson City Wednesday. A lawyer for a majority of the St. Louis school board will try to convince the jduge to block the state’s invervention.
The lawsuit says the state has held the St. Louis district to a different standard than the one it uses to accredit other school districts. The lawsuit also says the State Board of Education has acted unconstitutionally by planning to transfer control from an elected board to an appointed board.
