June 7, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The Kansas City Royals close out their three game series with the Cleveland Indians, losing 8-3 to the Tribe at Jacobs Field in Cleveland.

The Indians played long ball against the Royals. Franklin Gutierrez, Jason Michaels, and Casey Blake each hit homers.

Despite the loss, there were a couple of positives for the Royals. Alex Gordon went 4 for 4, with a double and a triple. And, Joey Gathright went 3 for 4.

Odalis Perez (3-6) gave up three earned runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss. Fausto Carmona (7-1) gave up one earned run in 7 innings to earn the win.

The Royals return home to Kauffman Stadium to open a weekend series, Friday night, with Philadelphia. Scott Elarton (1-2) goes to the mound for the Royals against Freddy Garcia (1-4) of the Phillies.
