The Kansas City Royals won their second straight over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, beating the Rays 9-4 Saturday night at Tropicana Field.

Emil Brown had 3 RBIs for the Royals, all of them coming on a 4 th inning home run, his second of the season. In all, the Royals scored four runs in the 4 th to add to the four they had put across the plate in the 2 nd . Brendan Harris hit a three-run homer in the 6 th to narrow the Kansas City lead to 8-4, but the Royals added a run in the 7 th to put it away.

Royals’ starter Odalis Perez (3-5) pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits, to pick up the win. Tampa Bay starter Edwin Jackson (0-7) pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up six earned runs, to take the loss.

The Royals (21-35) and Devil Rays close out their weekend series Sunday afternoon in Florida, with Scott Elarton (1-1) pitching for Kansas City against Tampa Bay’s J.P. Howell (0-0).
