For the 10th straight time dating back to 2005, the St. Louis Cardinals knocked off the L.A. Dodgers, an 8-4 winner last night. The Cards jumped out to an 8 run lead after 3 innings, scoring 3 in the first, 3 in the second, and 2 in the third. Cardinals starter Brad Thompson went 6 2/3rds picking up the win. It was just Thompson’s second start of the year and third of his career. Chris Duncan hit his 6th home run of the season, the first for St. Louis since May 1st. David Eckstein added three hits in the win. The Cardinals and Dodgers will play game 2 of the 3 game set tonight in LA.
