The final week of the legislative session begins Monday with lawmakers hoping to tie up loose ends and put the finishing touches on various bills.

Senator Charlie Shields (R-St. Joseph), the Majority Floor Leader in the Senate, says unfinished business includes legislation dealing with MOHealthNet and education, among other things, which can be focused on now that work on the budget has been completed.

Shields says this session has been a good one, with the Senate working hard on key pieces of legislation. He expects that spirit of success will continue through this final week.
