Rising waters and early reports of flooding have state officials on high alert for a potential flood disaster. High waters have already forced road closures and evacuations in several areas throughout the state. Governor Blunt says water levels are expected to continually rise throughout the week. Blunt says state emergency resources are activated and ready. He has already declared a state of emergency and says the state’s emergency operations center, other state agencies and the National Guard are prepared to offer assistance with efforts to combat rising water levels. Blunt participated in sandbagging efforts in the Jefferson City area Tuesday afternoon.
