Royals Hammered 13-4 by Tigers

May 7, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The Kansas City Royals hopes for salvaging one of their three weekend games with the defending American League Champion Detroit Tigers were dashed on Sunday as the Tigers blasted the Royals 13-4 at Kauffman Stadium.

Royals starter and losing pitcher Zack Greinke (1-4) never got into any kind of groove, giving up three two-run homers in the second inning. He lasted four innings, giving up 6 earned runs on 9 hits.

Detroit starter Chad Durbin (2-1) pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs for the win.

The Royals have an off day on Monday before opening a series with the Oakland A’s Tuesday night at the K.
