Father of Accused Joplin School Shooter Sentenced to Prison Time

The father of Thomas White, the youngster accused of shooting a gun at a Joplin middle school, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison. Greg Lynn White, who will begin serving his sentence on June 9th, also was given two years supervised released after serving his prison time.

The Joplin Globe reports White had previously pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. White was in possession of several weapons, including the assault rifle his son is accused of taking to school.
