The acting Agriculture Director Matt Boatright says the damage to several Missouri crops is significant and devastating. Boatright toured vineyards, a peach orchard and wheat fields in Herman Friday to survey the crop damage by the current cold snap. He says officials still need to assess information, but from what he has seen so far, the outlook looks bleak for Missouri vinyards.  Boatright says early reports project an 80 to 90 percent loss to grape crops. He says he saw the same type of loss with the peach crop and added the wheat crop also showed significant loss, though he says he did find groups of healthy stalks among damaged crop. Boatright stresses these are early reports and officials still need to make full assesments.
