Bomb threat blows up on perpetrator

April 11, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

A jackson man has pleaded guilty to making a terrorist threat in an effort to create grounds for a lawsuit against police.  Duane Haffner is one of two men charged in the case.

Investigators say he called Jackson police from the recovery center where he was living and described a man he said was going to take a bomb into the county courthouse.   Police say that man, Leotis Allen, planned to fake an injury during his arrest, sue the police department, and split a settlement with Haffner.  Allen did not have a bomb.

Allen has pleaded not guilty. He goes before a judge later this month.
