State Increasing Exports to Vietnam

April 10, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The state Agriculture Department says 10 years of trade efforts are starting to pay off with exports more than doubling in Vietnam in just four years. Spokesman Mark Hitt says the state exported about $75 million dollars worth of agricultural products in 2005 and $287 million worth was exported last year. Last year’s export figures also more than double the previous record of $103 million dollars worth of Missouri agricultural goods exported to Vietnam. Hitt attributes the boom to a growing economy in Vietnam. The deparment says Missouri companies are expected to ship another $2 million worth of ag goods in the next few months.
