Candidates for the St. Louis School Board have left little doubt there will be a court challenge to the state’s planned power shift in the district.

Two seats on the school board come up for election next month. All five candidates say they will join three current board members to try to block the appointment of a transitional board to run the district.

The St. Louis Board voted 4-3 in January not to have the district’s lawyer fight the state effort. Two of the three "no" votes will leave the Board next month.
