All the attention has been focused on the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament coming to St. Louis this weekend, but those who made it to Kansas City Monday night for the NAIA semifinals saw a treat.

Fourth-seeded Concordia (Calif.) University took on top-seeded Robert Morris in a four-overtime game that saw Concordia hand RMU a 124-119 defeat – the first lost of the season for RMU.

Regulation ended with a 79-79 tie. Concordia needed three buzzer beaters to keep their season alive. Freshman guard Terrence Worthy provided the fireworks on two of those buzzer-beaters. Keith Lawrence sent the game into the final overtime with a double-pumping desperation heave at the buzzer.

Robert Morris had two shots at three-pointers that would have sent the game into a fifth overtime, but neither attempt found the bottom of the net.

The game was the second-longest in NAIA tournament history, and the 243 combined points by the two teams broke the tournament record of 231 points in a game.
