A familiar voice returns to Missouri sports broadcasting just after being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Broadcaster Jay Randolph came to Missouri in 1966 to do Cardinal football on KMOX in St. Louis. He returns to St. Louis this year to broadcast Cardinal baseball on television. Randolph says the call came in early December. He calls it an early Christmas present.

Randolph says he was in the right place at the right time when he moved to Missouri. He worked for NBC for 20 years and was a fixture on Saturday afternoons; calling Big 8 basketball for years. A lot of games, a lot of memories, but what stands out for Randolph are the people he got to work with over the years, especially broadcast legend, the late Jack Buck. Randolph says he’s pleased the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame provides room for broadcasters, administrators and others who help make sports what it is today.
