Ask any college basketball coach and they will tell you that they want their team to reach its peak come playoff time. After Saint Louis University beat Richmond 78-68 Wednesday, SLU coach Brad Soderberg hopes his team is clicking at just the right time.
The Billikens three best players finally got on the same page at the same time. It was bound to happen eventually but Billiken fans were hoping it occurred before the last day in February. But at times like this it is better late than never. The ‘stars’ Kevin Lisch, Ian Vouyoukas, and Tommie Liddell all lined up. Lisch scored 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Vouyoukas added 19 points and nine boards while Liddell chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds.
"It was one of the games, probably the only game this season," Vouyoukas said. "where the ‘Big Three’ as they like to call us, we all played well and showed everything we can. Hopefully we can continue this to Dayton and on to Atlantic City."
SLU finished their home schedule this season with a 13-2 record.
