Missouri State pitcher Ross Detwiler is wasting little time getting into midseason form. The junior hurler has been named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and Midwest Region Pitcher of the Week.
Detwiler pitched the Bears to a victory over Dallas Baptist in the team’s season opener striking out a career-high 13 batters. The southpaw only allowed two hits and a run in seven innings of work.
It’s the second time in Detwiler’s career he’s been named National Player of the Week.
