In an attempt to trim the roster down to the 24-man limit, the Kansas City Brigade released 11 players, including fullback Robert Thomas, defensive lineman Gillis Wilson, and offensive lineman Dan Koons. All three were cut because of salary cap reasons.

The Brigade will only play with two quarterbacks after releasing former Chief Jonathan Quinn. Starter Ray Philyaw and backup Michael Bishop are the only signal callers left on the team.

Other players released included wide receiver Anthony Bright, fullbacks Vince Brown and Joe Hall, defensive backs Rob Carey and Nick Ward, defensive lineman Marques Ledbetter, and offensive lineman Tyshaun Whitson.

Kansas City plays their season opener March 4 against the Chicago Rush.
