Mizzou baseball lost for the first time this season. Arizona State racked up seven runs on the Tigers in a 7-1 win in Tempe, Arizona.

The 13 th -ranked Sun Devils took advantage of some Missouri mistakes. ASU scored all seven of its runs in the fifth and sixth innings and four of those runs were unearned.

"We didn’t do enough to win tonight," Coach Tim Jamieson said. "We didn’t take many god swings and we needed to make some plays and didn’t. We just didn’t do the things that we did well last weekend."

Mizzou loaded the bases to start the fifth inning. Senior Gary Arndt led off with a single, Aaron Senne walked, and Kyle Mach was hit by a pitch. Evan Frey drove in the game’s first run bringing home Arndt on a fielder’s choice.

The Sun Devils answered in the bottom of the fifth scoring three runs of its own to take a 3-1 lead. ASU built on that lead in the sixth with four more runs. All four runs were unearned.

Both teams will meet again tonight in Surprise, Arizona as part of this weekend’s Spring Training Classic.
