Former KC prep star dies

February 16, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Former Missouri prep star Chris Lindley died Thursday in Lawrence. He was 34.

Lindley starred in basketball at Raytown South High School during the late 1980’s and 1990. Lindley played for legendary coach Bud Lathrop. Lindley had already accepted a scholarship to play basketball for Roy Williams at Kansas in 1990 when a train ran over his leg causing it to require amputation. Kansas stayed true to its word and honored the scholarship even though Lindley never played for the school.

Lindley was working at a health care facility in Lawrence. His death is reportedly due to natural causes and is under investigation.
