It may seem a bit early considering a wintry mix of weather might be in the cards for parts of Missouri early this next week, but the Missouri Tiger baseball team kicked off their season with an emphatic 12-6 win over Florida International yesterday.

The victory earned Manager Tim Jameson his 400th win as the Tiger head man.  He now ranks third on MU’s all-time wins list, trailing Tiger Hall of Famers Gene McArtor (733 wins) and John Simmons (481).

Freshman outfielder Aaron Senne led the way for Mizzou, going a perfect 3-for-3 and knocking in two runs.  Tigers Gary Arndt and Dan Pietroburgo also collected three hits apiece.  Rick Zagone (1-0) picked up the win, throwing five innings of two-run ball.

The Tigers and Golden Panthers will take to the diamond again today, before finishing the three-game series tomorrow afternoon.
