Former Congresman Returns to Missouri

February 5, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Former Congressman Bill Burlison, who represented southeast Missouri for 12 years, has returned to his home turf to practice law. Burlison lost his seat in 1980 to Bill Emerson. He stayed in Maryland after his loss, served on the county council and thought about running for Congress for a while. He’s told the Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian he has come back to southeast Missouri to start a “third career.” He says he’s back because he was homesick for Missouri.
