Ligashesky Out as Rams ST Coach

January 26, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The Rams lackluster special teams play last season has cost a man his job. Head coach Scott Linehan made the decision this week not to renew the contract of special teams coach Bob Ligashesky.

Ligashesky spent two seasons coaching the Rams special teams with no success in either year. St. Louis ranked 25th or lower in three out of four special team categories in 2006. They ended last season tied for 25th in punt returns, 26th in kickoff returns, and 28th in kickoff coverage. Things really came to light when Chicago?s Devin Hester returned two kicks for touchdowns on Monday Night Football in a blowout win for the Bears.
