Blues Sounding Upbeat

January 20, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The Blues look to finish their four-game West Coast trip on an upbeat tonight at San Jose. The road swing has been successful so far for the Notes who have flourished under new head coach Andy Murray. St. Louis began the trip with a 5-4 shootout loss to Phoenix, but has since rebounded with wins over Anaheim (6-2) and Los Angeles (3-1).

Tonight’s game will be No. 500 for Murray, who spent the previous five-plus seasons with the Kings. During his time in L.A., Murray coached the Kings to the playoffs in each of his first three seasons. He was fired ten months ago, and one man’s trash has turned into another man’s treasure.

The Blues were sitting in last-place in the Central Division when Murray took over. They’re 11-2-2 in the last 15 games, and will have an outside shot at the playoffs heading into the All-Star break next Friday.
