Similar to the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the Big 12 and Pac-10 conferences have agreed on a series of men’s basketball games starting next season.

The four-year agreement will pit teams from the two leagues against each other. Missouri will play California the first two years, after which new matchups will be made. The first game will be in Berkeley, Ca on Dec. 1. Game two of the series in 2008 will be in Columbia.

OTHER MATCHUPS: All games will alternate site locations.

Kansas State vs. Oregon

Kansas vs. Arizona

Half of the top-10 teams in college basketball reside in either the Big 12 or the Pac-10. The Associated Press ranks Kansas sixth, Texas A&M eighth, Oklahoma State is ninth, the Pac-10’s UCLA is fourth, and Arizona is 10th.

The Pac-10 has two fewer teams, so two of its teams will play twice. Arizona and Stanford will play twice for the first two years.

Arizona will also play Texas A&M. Stanford will play Colorado and Texas Tech.
