Missouri State guard Spencer Laurie has been named Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week.
Laurie, a junior guard for the Bears, averaged 12.5 points in a sweep over Bradley and Wichita State. The Springfield Kickapoo High grad scored a career-high 16 points against Bradley. The Bears win at Bradley snapped the Braves 15-game home winning streak.
Laurie handed out a career-best eight assist in the win over the Shockers.
