Missouri’s new State Auditor is ready to hit the ground running as she moves into her new office. Susan Montee, who actually took over as Auditor last week, had friends and family on hand today as she took the oath in an inauguration ceremony under the Capitol Dome. In a speech following the inauguration, Montee said she realizes this is not going to be an easy job, but insists she is ready to work with others at various levels of government to bring about change. Montee moved into the office a few days early after the previous Auditor, Claire McCaskill, was sworn in as a Uninted States Senator. Montee plans to make an audit of MOHELA – the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority – a top priority.
