A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy remains in serious condition at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Cpl. Trevor Wild was wounded Saturday when he and New Haven police officers responded to a call that 23-year-old Jeremy Klott of New Haven had threatened his girlfriend with a shotgun. Kott fired at officers from the window of his home, hitting Wild’s shoulder, near his neck. Authorities negotiated with Klott for hours before storming the house only to find Klott dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Relatives told police Klott had been drinking heavily for a couple of days and was depressed.
