Secretary of state Robin Carnahan says she wants to stay where she is….She says she’ll run for another term as Secretary…and not get into a primary race for Governor with Jay Nixon. She says she considered a race “very seriously” because she thinks Missourians deserve a better government than they’re getting. But she says there are a lot of things she can do in another term as Secretary of State. And she says there are personal considerations. She says she feels good after spending 2006 battling breast cancer. She says her doctor has given her a clean bill of health. She’s also going to get married in 2007. She says it’s time to bring some balance to her life and “jumping into a governor’s race is not the best way to do that.” She says she wanted to make a decision early so she could get on with her life…and others could get on with what they have to do, too.
