As if Kansas City’s postseason hopes were not microscopic enough, they just got slimmer. The New York Jets’ win over the Miami Dolphins Christmas Day means the Chiefs need several things to go their way this weekend in order for the team to secure its second playoff berth in the last nine years.
KC will host Jacksonville this Sunday, and in addition to picking up a win over the Jaguars, the Chiefs also need both the Titans and Bengals to lose or tie. As if that were not enough, the rival Broncos must also lose to the 49ers for Kansas City to have a taste of postseason action.
Should any of those three team win, however, the Chiefs’ season would be over.
KC hosts Jacksonville at Arrowhead Stadium Sunday at noon.
