Don’t look now, but the Blues are actually building themselves a winning streak. It might only last two games, but at this point, coaches, players, fans and even Scottrade Center ushers will probably take it. The Note knotted their second straight win last night by knocking off the Kings 5-2.

David Backes’ first career NHL goal provided St. Louis with a first period lead they would never relenquish. Lee Stempniak and Martin Rucinsky added goals in the second to expand the advantage, and St. Louis took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.

Manny Legace stopped 23 of 25 shots to earn his seventh victory on the season. Jay McClement and Barret Jackman also scored for the Blues.

St. Louis will host Buffalo on Saturday at 7:00.
