SEMO Places Two on All-America Team

Southeast Missouri State seniors Edgar Jones and David Simonhoff didn’t quite enjoy the type of farewell season they wanted. The Redhawks finished 4-7, including losses in six of their last seven games.

This week, both players were recognized for their individual play. Jones led the nation in quarterback sacks and finished fourth in tackles for loss. Jones recorded 12 sacks this year and 18 tackles for loss. He was named First Team NCAA I-AA All America by the Associated Press.

Simonhoff, a 6-2, 200 pound punter, made the second team. It is the third year in a ro Simonhoff has been named to an All-America team. This year Simonhoff averaged 44.8 yards per punt with 15 punts going inside the 20 and a long of 75 yards.
