Blunt Appoints Reverend to State Board of Education

December 14, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Blunt names his latest appointment to the State Board of Education. Blunt’s newest appointee, the Reverend Stanley Archie says he favors competition among the state’s schools. Archie has served on the board of University Academy – a charter school – since its start in 2000. Archie says charter schools could help promote competition in state education. He says he won’t address the controversy over tax credits for private schools… unless someone else brings it up. The Reverend Stanley Archie does say schools should be held accountable if they receive any form of state aid. Blunt says Archie will help bring diversity to the State Board of Education.
