Blues Lose Ninth Straight

December 14, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Former pop start Aaliyah had a hit song that said “if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.” I doubt any of the Blues players listen to Aaliyah, but if they do, perhaps the cd is scratching and sounds like “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again, try again, try again.” St. Louis is in a funk and getting out looks bleak. Last night’s 4-1 loss to Colorado was the ninth straight for the Blues and the second under new coach Andy Murray.

Milan Hejduk, Paul Stastny, and Pierre Turgeon each scored a goal and an assist. Colorado scored three goals in the second period.

Jamal Mayers scored the only goal for the Blues.

St. Louis is down to their third and fourth string goalies. Jason Bacashihua stopped 41 shots and Marek Schwarz stopped a shot in his brief time on the ice. The Blues have only earned one standings point during their nine-game skid.
