Just one day on the job, Blues coach Andy Murray was unable to create miracles overnight. Murray lost his debut as Blues coach 3-2 versus Chicago last night.

Murray’s debut behind the bench was looking good until the third period rolled around and the Blackhawks caught fire. Peter Bondra started the furious rally with his 499th career goal.

St. Louis goalie Marek Schwarz made is first appearance on the ice since being drafted by the Blues in the first round in 2004. He stopped 17 shots before allowing three of the next four to get behind him in a 2:04 span. Radim Vrbata scored a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks.

Christian Backman recorded a goal and an assist for the Blues. St. Louis has dropped 8-straight and owns the worst record in the NHL at 7-18-4 and only 18 points. Doug Weight also scored a goal in the game.

St. Louis is back on the ice tonight at Colorado.
