Postal Service Recommends Missourians Mail Christmas Items Early

December 12, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Christmas is less than two weeks away and the U.S. Postal Service is urging anyone mailing holiday letters or packages to get moving if the mail is to get there on time. Post offices throughout the state are beehives of activity as postal workers deal with huge increases in volume during the Christmas mailing period. Valerie Hughes with the U.S. Postal Service in St. Louis says despite increases in the number of phone calls and e-mail greetings, there is no let up in the amount of cards, letters, and packages being sent. Next Monday is considered the busiest mailing day of the season, and the Postal Service is advising people to mail their holiday items by that day to ensure delivery in time for Christmas.
