USDA Grants Benefit Extension to Missouri Food Stamp Recipients

December 11, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

A benefit extension has been announced for Missouri families hit by the Winter storm. Sara Anderson with the State Social Services Department says the U.S. Department of Agriculture has waived the 10-day rule to file for replacement Food Stamps. She says this will primarily help those in the St. Louis area who lost food purchased with Food Stamps. Recipients will still have to act to take advantage of the extension. They have until December 22nd to file the necessary papers at the recipients’ local Department of Social Services’ Family Support Division office.
