The First Family supports the newest addition to the Dix Road Education Center. First Lady Melanie Blunt snipped the bow for the ribbon cutting ceremony honoring Jefferson City’s Parent’s as Teachers group. Kids then filed inside to visit with Clifford before the Blunts read “Good Boy Ferguson” to kick off the Scholastic Read for 2007 program. Governor Blunt says it’s important for kids to get an early start on education. He says basic skills such as putting words together, alphabet recognition and understanding how stories progress are invaluable tools in early childhood development. He says exercises in early childhood development also help bring families together.
