A Missourians gets a leadership position in the new Congress. West-central Congressman Ike Skelton has been chosen by the House Democratic Caucus to serve as Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee during the new session of Congress that begins in January. Skelton is the senior member of Missouri’s Congressional delegation, having represented the state’s Fourth Congressional District in the U.S. House since 1977. He has been serving as the ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee.
