Ameren Blasted by PSC Over Power Outages

December 7, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Public Service Commission has told the chief operating officer of AmerenUE the utility has not done enough to prevent widespread power outages. And the PSC has demanded Ameren give the Commission suggestions on how to prevent the kind of widespread blackouts that have occurred four times in three years. Ameren says the ice storm that hit last week is the worst ice storm in St. Louis in almost 30 years, and that most of the damage was caused by trees growing on private property, not trees on the Ameren right-of-way.
