Power Outages Keep St. Louis Area Red Cross Busy

December 4, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The frigid temperatures, coupled with a power outage still affecting tens of thousands of homes and businesses in the St. Louis area, is keeping Red Cross personnel very busy. Stephen Hall with the St. Louis Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, says four shelters are up and running and have been in operation since the storm hit Thursday night. Hall says the Red Cross shelters in the St. Louis area have housed between 200 and 300 people each night and have served thousands of meals since the lights went out Thursday.
