A sexual discrimination lawsuit has been filed against the Boone County Fire Protection District by a former assistant chief. The lawsuit filed by Bruce Piringer demands two-million dollars in damages. He says he was fired because he told a Columbia Daily Tribune Reporter about verbal abuse aimed at another employee by another assistant chief, Sharon Curry. He claims she unfairly exercised power within the department because she had a romantic relationship with the district chief.
